Central Heating Installation in Sheffield
From fitting a brand new central heating system to upgrading old pipework, radiators and controls, JR Plumbing and Heating designs and installs heating that keeps Sheffield homes warm and bills under control.

Central Heating That Suits Your Home
A good central heating system is more than a boiler. It is the boiler, the pipework, the radiators, the controls and how they all work together. Get it right and your home warms up evenly and quickly; get it wrong and you end up with cold spots, noisy pipes and bills that are higher than they should be.
JR Plumbing and Heating installs and upgrades central heating systems in houses, flats and bungalows across Sheffield. That might mean a completely new system in a property that has never had one, replacing a tired old system, or upgrading parts of what you already have.
What we can do
- Install a new central heating system from scratch, including boiler, pipework and radiators
- Replace old, leaking or inefficient pipework and radiators
- Fit new thermostats, room controls and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs)
- Upgrade a gravity-fed or older system to a modern, efficient setup
- Add radiators to extensions, loft conversions and new rooms
- Balance the system so every room heats evenly
Planning Your Heating System
Before we quote, we look at how your home is laid out and how you use it. A few things shape what we recommend:
Size and layout
The number of rooms, the size of each one and how well the property is insulated decide how much heat you need and which radiators suit each space.
Hot water demand
How many bathrooms and people you have decides whether a combi, system or regular boiler is the better choice for your home.
Controls
Good controls make a big difference to comfort and running costs. We can set up room thermostats, timers and TRVs so you only heat what you need, when you need it.
Existing pipework
Sometimes old pipework can be reused; sometimes replacing it is the better long-term option. We will tell you honestly which one it is.
Our boiler installation and radiator installation services work hand in hand with this, so one tradesperson can look after the whole job from the boiler to the last radiator.

What Sheffield Customers Say
Real reviews from real customers on our Google Business Profile.
“James was brilliant. Originally replaced 7 radiators for me at beginning of the year on short notice and then a new boiler install a few months later. Clean, professional, nice bloke and at a fair price. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.”
“James has done a lot of things for us in our house and we will continue to use him for any plumbing we need doing. He is reliable and professional from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good plumber.”
Central Heating Installation FAQs
Can’t find what you are after? Give us a call — it only takes a minute.
How long does a central heating installation take?
It depends on the size of your home and how much needs to be done. Replacing a few radiators takes much less time than a complete new system. We will give you a realistic timescale before we start.
Can you add central heating to a home that does not have it?
Yes. We can install a complete system, including boiler, pipework, radiators and controls, in homes that do not already have central heating. We will talk you through the best layout when we visit.
Do you replace radiators as part of a heating upgrade?
Yes, we fit new radiators of all kinds, from standard panel radiators to column and designer styles. See our radiator installation page for more.
Can you fit smart thermostats and TRVs?
We fit room thermostats, programmers and thermostatic radiator valves. If you would like smart controls, tell us when we quote and we will advise on what works with your system.
Will you need to lift my floorboards?
Sometimes pipework runs under floors, so occasionally yes. We take care to protect your floors and put everything back neatly, and we will tell you in advance if it is likely.
Do I need a new boiler as well?
Not always. If your boiler is fairly new and working well, we may only need to update the pipework, radiators or controls. We will tell you honestly what makes sense.
