Radiator Installation in Sheffield
Upgrade a tired radiator, fit a designer feature radiator or add heating to a new room. JR Plumbing and Heating fits and replaces radiators across Sheffield, neatly and with minimal mess.

Radiator Fitting and Replacement
The right radiator does two jobs: it heats a room properly, and it looks good while doing it. Whether you want a like-for-like replacement, a leaking radiator swapped, or a statement designer radiator in a hallway or living room, we will fit it neatly and make sure it works properly.
Radiator work we do
- Replace old, leaking or rusty radiators
- Fit new designer, vertical, column and traditional cast-iron-style radiators
- Fit new standard panel radiators in new rooms or extensions
- Fit and replace thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) and lockshield valves
- Take radiators off and refit them when you are decorating
- Bleed and balance radiators so the whole system heats evenly
Choosing the Right Radiator
Radiators come in a huge range of styles, and the best choice depends on the room, the wall space you have and how much heat the room needs. We will help you pick one that fits both the look of your home and its heating needs.
Panel radiators
The standard, good-value option for most rooms. Slim, efficient and available in a wide range of sizes.
Column & traditional
Classic column radiators suit period properties and are a popular choice for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
Vertical & designer
Tall, narrow radiators give you the heat output you need where wall space is limited, and look striking in a hallway or living room.
The size matters as much as the style. A radiator that is too small will struggle to heat the room, while one that is too big wastes money. We will work out the right output for the space.
Valves, TRVs and Better Control
New radiator valves can make an old system far easier to control. Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) let you set the temperature room by room, so you are not heating spare bedrooms to the same level as the living room. Lockshield valves let us balance the system so the radiators nearest the boiler do not hog all the heat.
If a radiator is cold at the top, cold at the bottom or in the middle, slow to warm up or keeps leaking, give us a call — it could be trapped air, sludge in the system, a stuck valve or a radiator that has reached the end of its life, and we will find the cause and put it right.
Taking radiators off for decorating
Painting or wallpapering behind a radiator? We can take it off the wall and refit it afterwards, so you get a proper finish without draining the whole system yourself.

Radiator Installation FAQs
Can’t find what you are after? Give us a call — it only takes a minute.
How long does it take to fit a radiator?
Replacing a single radiator like for like is usually a relatively quick job. New radiators in a different position, or several at once, take longer. We will give you a realistic estimate when we quote.
Do you have to drain the whole heating system?
Often only part of the system needs draining, and we refill and bleed it afterwards. We will let you know what to expect before we start.
Can you fit a designer or vertical radiator?
Yes. We fit designer, vertical, column and traditional-style radiators. Tell us what you have in mind and we will check it suits the room and your system.
Why is my radiator cold at the top?
Usually trapped air, but it can also point to a wider problem in the system, such as sludge or a faulty valve. Give us a call and we will find the cause.
Can you take a radiator off while I decorate?
Yes. We can remove it and refit it once you have finished decorating.
What are TRVs and do I need them?
Thermostatic radiator valves let you control the temperature of each radiator individually. They are a simple way to improve comfort and avoid heating rooms you are not using.
